There are 8 resorts that make up the 3 Valleys: Courchevel, Val Thorens, Meribel, Les Menuires, Saint Martin de Belleville, La Tania, Orelle, and Brides les Bains. The three main resorts that most will visit or stay at are Courchevel, Méribel, and Val Thorens.
Courchevel is a must for the luxury traveler. Courchevel offers lots of boutiques and art studios for your time off slope. You will eat really well in Courchevel with plenty of Michelin starred restaurants to choose from. However great the service, amenities, and luxury accommodations are,it is the vast amount of slopes in the area that are most important to the avid skiers. There are slopes that will challenge every level and there are plenty of off slope activities as well.
Méribel is centrally located in Three Valleys, giving it the best access to all of the ski areas.This is a great resort for families with lots of intermediate ski slopes.
Val Thorens is the highest resort in Europe. The resort is linked to many of the other valleys with a network of trails and about 600 km of piste. High altitude skiing means snow November through May. The resort will be perfect for beginners to experts and everyone in between. .
